The Eastlake Wolves lost the Battle of the Plateau to a very strong Skyline Spartan team.  The Spartans came in ranked #1 in the state as well as ranked nationally  -  for good reason. What started out as a great game plan when senior Captains Stephen Nasca and Turner Lee took the Wolves defense on their shoulders and stifled the Spartan offense on their first posession. Lee and Nasca blitzed from all over the field and kept the Spartans offense on their heels. Their leadership was needed as the Wolves were missing 5 starters.  Unfortunately for the Wolves, mid-way through the first quarter, and in a 10 second time period, the Wolves found themselves down 13 – 0 on two consecutive turnovers.  From there the momentum changed dramatically. The Wolves coughed up the football 6 times and gave the Spartans offense the short side of the field. The Spartans took to the air and capitalized on the Wolves mistakes.

The Wolves face a tough and scrappy Newport team this week which will have a significant playoff impact for both teams.  It will be Homecoming for the Wolves and it is anticipated they will came out with a great deal of purpose. Go Wolves!
