The Eastlake Wolves earned their second win of the season by beating an up and coming Lake Washington team 55-20. Senior QB, Drake Furcini bounced back from an injury in week 1 at Mount Si by completing 19-24 passes for 246 and 3 TD’s. Jeff Grotjahn was everywhere – playing both defense (DB) and offense (WR) and punt returner and PAT holder. He also had 4 catches for 134 yards and two TD’s ( 32 and 66 yards).  Offensively the game was another slow start for the Wolves, but the defense was again very stingy behind the play of Senior LB Turner Lee and Junior LB’s Alex Boyce and Austin Reifeis. At halftime the Wolves lead was  14 – 7.   Then the Wolves exploded for 6 TD’s ( Cameron Hunt 2, Paul Wright, Andy Marzano, Kelby McCorkle and Matt Dusche) in the second half. Coach Dales was able to utilize many of the Wolves weapons throughout the second half.  In addition, it was a great opportunity for some of the young guys to get some quality playing time in case they are called upon in future games.  This week the Wolves are getting ready for a tough match up against Woodinville who beat Liberty 34-17.  The Wolves game will be played at Qwest field on Saturday at 1:30pm.
